DAY SPA ETIQUETTE & FAQs

 

What time shall I arrive?

To enhance your Spa experience, please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled treatment.
 

What if I am late for my treatment?

Arriving late will limit the time of your treatment, thus lessening its effectiveness and your pleasure. Your treatment will end on time, so the next guest will not be delayed. The full value of your treatment will be charged.

 

What if I need to cancel my scheduled appointment?

If you must reschedule or cancel your appointment, please notify the spa at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged the full-service fee. Cancellations of packages or private parties require one week's notice. Please see the spa coordinator for additional information. No show no call appointments, your next appointment  will have to be paid in advance.
 

What do I wear?

Most body treatments are enjoyed without clothing. However, please wear whatever is comfortable for you. The body is fully draped during all treatments, except for the area being worked on. Robes and slippers are provided upon request and for packages.

 

What about my comfort?

Your Spa experience is your time, and you should delight in it to the fullest. However, if you experience discomfort due to room temperature, massage pressure, music volume, or any other conditions, please communicate with your therapist immediately.

 

What if I have special health concerns?

When making reservations, please notify the spa coordinator of any and all health concerns such as high blood pressure, allergies, any physical ailments or disabilities, or if you are pregnant. 
 

Male or female therapist?

It's entirely up to you. We will make every effort to accommodate our guests' requests. However, please keep in mind that it may be harder to fulfill your request and that for less-requested treatments, the spa may have only one therapist available. We recommend booking in advance to complete a particular therapist. 

 

How do I pay?

We accept major credit cards. For packages, a credit card number is required at the time of reservation. 

 

Do I Need To Tip My Therapist? How Much Is Appropriate?         

Gratuity is at your discretion at The Oakhouse Day Spa. It is not included in your cost of service. However, to show your appreciation to your therapist, an average gratuity for spa services is 20-25%. Tip envelopes are available at the spa front desk. We are also able to leave gratuity on a credit card charge.

To preserve our tranquil environment, we ask that you respect others' privacy, speak softly, and silence all cell phones.
